My weekend!!

 In my first day of my long weekend I went to An eye test with my mum and Lauryn. It was a Saturday I was excited to get an eye test because I get to know if I need glasses or not. We went there and we had to wait awhile. But then we got to my appointment then had to go in a small and dark room. There were these two things and they go on each eye.One of the machines had a hot air balloon and it takes x-rays of your eye or it takes a photo of your eye.The other machine it a x and the x has a dot and that takes photos or x-rays as well. And now I was finished with the first test then we had to go back in the waiting room we had to wait for around 10 minutes. They called my name and we went in another room. In the end I didn't need glasses

Athletics

last week on monday  we had to do Athletics I was really excited to do it. It was also really cold in the morning the year 

The year 8 girls started with high jump with the year 4 boys. I didn't do high jump because i'm not good at it and the pole was getting higher and higher my friend Lauryn wasn't doing it right she kept jumping under the pole instead going over. Then we got to go to long jump long jump is my favorite thing to do for      athletics. I was happy to move on from high jump to long jump because i think I'm good at it but this year i didn't do good I  got 3.80 and last year I  got 5.60. Then we moved to sprites. Sprites is also my favorite thing to do we all walked there and I was really excited to do it as well. There was the year 8 girls who started first then it was the year 4 boys we walked to the other end of the track there were two poles there and that was our starting line. I was in the first race with Charlotte,Clara,Lauryn,Kirsten and that's all i can remember. We all lined up for our race then we were off I didn't know who came first or second  or third I just ran and didn't see who was next to me.  It was really fun

Having good manners is always a good thing in life because saying hello and then saying it back

Try and notice all the nice things people do for you and appreciate them for being nice and kind

And helping out others. Accept your own mistakes  and say sorry other wise in will turn into a bigger problem than it needs to be. Be honest it will make people trust you if you lie once then people would never believe you or trust you again. 

It helps people realize that people do things without thinking about what there saying or doing.

And making people wait for you and do stuff for you is not good manners because they shoulnt have to do anything for you thats your responsibility to do things for you

You should always never get into someones personal space and it may effect them in a different way then you think. Like kicking,punching or throwing things at people than just stop because youe getting into their bubble and thay wont like that.If you take someones things or hand it in and say sorry and never take there stuff again.

 What I knew before starting?

before me and Addie, Lauryn we didn't know that much I did know a little bit about bird's.

Addison: I didn't know much before we started.

Lauryn: I  learned about a new bird called rifle man.

What I found out while working on it?

Garding

springbok tour 1981

 In 1981 a south African rugby tour known  in New Zealand as the springbok tour and in south Africa known as rebel tour. There was a opinion to protest across New Zealand and also extended to united states where the south African rugby team continued their tour after departing New Zealand. Apartheid had south Africa had made south Africa an international parish and other countries were strongly discouraged from having sporting contracts with it. Rugby union was and is an extremely popular sport in New Zealand and the south Africa known as Spingbok's were considered to be New Zealand's most formidable opponent's  therefore  there was a major split in opinion in New Zealand as to whether  politic's should influence sport in the way and whether the springboks be allowed to tour.

my term so far.

 This term so far 

My term has been fun and challenging we have had fun opportunities like adrenaline forest I went to adrenaline forest with Addison, Neveah and keria. And lots more but I did’nt go to skiing. I have also meet some more people and also have done maurako which is learning maori and learning rako I also made a bone carving it was like a koro shape. The worst thing was the smell of the bone. I have also doen girls self defence that was a cool experince I leart alot of things in self defence.

what we did today

 what we have done this morning is we have done some science and there is  not many people at school because they are on a trip to ski somewhere. I'm not sure where then we got to go outside onto the back field me and my friends Addie Lauryn and Meliki we were playing kicks with a ball. Then after that we went back inside and played quizlet and we all had to be in difrent  groups. And now we are dong one blog and and two comments.

Math's

I'm  in Mr Redmond's group and we do lots of times table sheets and we have started doing Measurement 

and he also been doing this  type of measurement 

I think it was hard but now i think its real easy.

And the time tables are really easy and I've been working on my 9x. here a photo of the measurement and perimeter  and area.

Camp 2020

On Thursday and Friday most of my class went to camp at Spencer park for night it was awesome.I was so tired but I knew that I had to keep on walking.We started walking from school around 1:30 I was with all my friends Lauryn, Lila and also my brother Rocky.So we started walking on the beach and I almost about to drop to the floor on the beach. But Lila helped me and encouraged me to keep going. I was encouraging Lila as well. Lauryn's mum was walking with us we felt really tired we found this track that looked like a hill me and Lila were ran up it then we saw a group of people on their bikes. We thought they were random people on their bike but they were the group with Sharon. Our group stopped for a while because it was really really hot on our walk. Once we got into the forest we started to walk again. After all that walking we got to camp I was so happy because we finally stopped walking. After the day ended we got to play a game called predator we played around the whole playground. And I had so much fun at Spencer park.

Maths week 4

 In Mr Redmond's maths group we always do quick tens are easy they also help me with my times tables.And work on our computer. And we do a times table sheets and we do also do a quiz a quiz that you can research your answer. Every day expect Thursday. Mr Redmond helps us with our hard times table like 6x22. I still have to work on those and we do area and perimeter. Some groups work with Mr Redmond about learning area and perimeter  Once we finished all our work we get to go on Sumdog or prodigy.

Day 2

 for day 2 me and Kiwa are working on our shamdisher and we have put a model on our product and we are still working on our google drawing.

Today In literacy

In  literacy me and Kiwa are making hair growing shamdisher Nogo gave us the idea. We have done some plans and drawings. Its a 2 in 1 thing. And it helps with hair grouth. We are now making our design on google drawing.

William pike

For my William pike me and my friends Lauryn ,Addison, Meliki are donating and fundrasing to Christchurch bull breed. And we are donating money,food,etc. I was going to donate to the spca but I thought of the Christchurch bull breed beacause Ive been there many times. We are going to have a mufti day we are doing a 2 dollar donation.

Sensing:

tech

Yesterday for tech we started our new tech classes. I'm now doing Mecatronic's and fabrics I was so happy to be in a different class It was really cold and raining.We went to mecatronic's first and it was quit fun the teacher's name was miss B she was really nice. Then we went to fabrics the teacher was really funny her name Is miss Tate shes a really nice teacher.

Reading

In literacy for reading we have been learning about supporting idea with main idea. Today we have done presidential pets,super brain. What I have learnt is a main idea is the first sentence in a story and supporting it explains or expands a paragraph or story.

my first day back at tech

My first day back at tech was pretty good It was my friend Lila´s birthday today. I was very tired cause I got up earlier than I usually do. I was really happy to see my friends.I finished most of my work In plastics. I made 4 twirly worly they were all diffrent colours.

My cat Moses

My cat Moses is a bombay cat  hes really fluffy and is only 7 months old hes getting bigger every day. He has green eyes silky fluffy fur. We got him around Christmas time.When we first met him he was very calm and really small. and now hes almost bigger than my other cat :)

My birthday

On Thursday 19 march It was my thirteenth birthday. I was so happy to be thirteen i could'nt sleep i was that exsited. My mum,dad woke me up around 7:00 am and they brought my presents into my room.I was very tired but i a phone,popsocket,hoddie,money,onesie. I am happy of what i got from family,friends.

Technology

Fitness

For fitness today we did a tyre run but with a twist we had to go on the bike track with a group of 6 we had 2 people on the tyre and 4 on the drum. The drum was very heavy I felt like my arm was gonna fall off. The drum was empty we were working as a team and trying out a rotation so that everyone could have a go and to make it easier for us.

We finally were going on the  course with the tyre me and my team were all good at something in the course.

Zumba friday

Today Is Friday that means zumba Friday. Every Friday we get to do zumba with the whole class we did lots of different style of zumba salsa,merengue,cupid Shuffle. I thought that it was very fun to do with the whole class I learnt a lot of dance styles. My friend Lila had a really sore head but she kept on dancing.

Today I came to school like a average day of school. I was so overjoyed going to school and swimming with my friends Lauryn,Stevie-lee. Me and Lauryn are in the same swimming group we do 4 lengths in the pool. You do get tired really quick but I love swimming so much Its my favourite sports.

The first day of technology for 2020

The first day at technology went well. My first class was electronics and my second was plastics.

Electronics was fun I was with my friends. I have been in both of these classes before. When I first went into electronics I was so excited.

My first week of being a year 8

Last week was a bit scary meeting new people in my class because I really didn't know them well.      I am still friends with my friends from last year my two best friends are Lila, Lauryn. I have known Lila for 3 or four years because we were in the same class for 3 years and Lauryn I've only known her for a year when we were both year 7. My first actual day doing stuff as a year 8 was different then being a year 7 because I know all the teachers and student now its totally different.

Today we did maths I'm in Mr Redmond's group. We did dodge ball at lunch time and right now we are doing literacy. My friend Lila and I are in the same group.
